Bowie Mill Road Bike Path, 69kV Feeder Relocation
Client- Pepco Holdings, Inc. (PHI)

Prime Partners Engineering is supporting Pepco Holdings in the relocation of 69kV transmission facilities along Bowie Mill Road to accommodate Montgomery County’s planned bike path while maintaining system reliability and public safety. The project includes field inspections of 80 transmission poles, conflict assessments, transmission line design, permitting support, traffic control planning, and multi-agency coordination. PPE also provides QA/QC reviews and construction support to ensure the successful relocation of critical transmission infrastructure with minimal disruption.

LUMA Arecibo Region Distribution Hardening Project
– Stantec/ LUMA Energy

Prime Partners Engineering provided engineering design services for the FEMA-funded Arecibo Region Distribution Hardening Project in Puerto Rico. Supporting six distribution feeders, PPE developed system hardening designs that included overhead infrastructure upgrades, underground conversions for critical loads, and fiber optic integration to improve system resilience.
Our team identified structures requiring repair or replacement, validated field conditions, and delivered designs compliant with LUMA standards, the NEC, NESC, and Puerto Rico regulations, helping strengthen the reliability and long-term performance of the region’s electric distribution system.

Goshen Road Utility Pole Relocation- Pepco Holdings, Inc. (PHI)

Prime Partners Engineering provided transmission design services for the relocation of utility poles along Goshen Road at Lindenhouse Road in coordination with Pepco Transmission Engineering and Montgomery County. PPE performed field inspections, developed GWD design and schematic packages, coordinated surveying, prepared traffic control plans and permitting packages, and conducted QA/QC reviews to support the safe and timely relocation of critical transmission infrastructure.

Oak Grove 69kV Pole Relocation- Pepco Holdings, Inc. (PHI)

Prime Partners Engineering provided transmission design services for the 69kV Pole Relocation at Oak Grove Substation and associated transmission infrastructure improvements. PPE conducted field inspections, developed designs for pole, cross-arm, insulator, and lightning arrestor replacements, and verified existing field conditions to support safe, constructable solutions.
Working closely with field crews and engineering stakeholders, PPE delivered designs that enhanced system reliability, improved asset protection, and minimized operational impacts while meeting utility standards.
